What Is a Court Docket in Mobile County

A docket is a chronological list of court events. For Mobile County, the Alacourt docket page produces a daily-setting list for circuit and district courts, organized by a chosen setting date. The docket shows what cases are scheduled, the parties, and the case number. A docket entry is not the same as a full case file: the entry is the calendar note; the file holds the motions, orders, exhibits, and judgments.

Mobile County has two parallel docket systems. Circuit and district court dockets run through Alacourt. Probate court dockets run through Benchmark WEB after registration. Family Court at Strickland Youth Facility handles juvenile matters that are not posted publicly. For an overview of which Mobile County court holds which docket, see the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit page.

How to Read a Mobile County Docket

Mobile case numbers carry a prefix that tells you the court and case type. CC is circuit criminal, DC is district criminal, DR is domestic relations, CV is civil, JU is juvenile, SM is small claims, and GJ refers to grand jury. The year follows the prefix, then a sequence number. So CC25-2821 is the 2,821st 2025 circuit criminal case for Mobile.

Docket event codes are usually short. "ARRG" or "ARR" is arraignment. "MOT" is motion. "ORD" is order. "PT" is pretrial. "TRL" is trial. "STAT" is status. "DISP" is disposition, the outcome. "RST" means reset to a new date. "CNT" or "CONT" means continued. "JDG" is judgment entered.

Probate case prefixes are different. Benchmark WEB shows the case summary, outstanding bill, and a green "PAY Online" button when costs are due.

Traffic Settings and Online Resolution

Mobile County traffic citations are handled in district traffic court or, when eligible, through the state's Online Traffic Resolution system at resolve.alacourt.gov. The Alabama traffic ticket information site at traffic.alacourt.gov lets you look up a ticket; payments run through Alapay. A traffic case may also appear on the Alacourt daily docket when the matter is set for court instead of online disposition.
